Choosing Between Room, Row, & Rack Based Cooling For Data Centers I
The conventional approach to data center cooling using uncontained room-based cooling has technical and practical limitations in next generation data centers. The need of next generation data centers to adapt to changing requirements, to reliably support high and variable power density, and to reduce electrical power consumption and other operating costs have directly led to the development of containment strategies for room, row, and rack-based cooling. This course describes these improved cooling methods.
• Recognize historical methods of cooling in data centers • Describe room, row & rack-based cooling methods • Explain hybrid cooling methods • Identify the benefits of the different cooling methods
